These terms apply when you use the CopyCat website and web app. By using CopyCat you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What CopyCat is

CopyCat is a free tool for saving and copying snippets of text. It runs in your browser and stores your data on your own device. The website is supported by advertising.

Your content and your backups

The snippets you save belong to you. Because they are stored only on your device, you are responsible for keeping backups (Settings, then Export). We cannot restore snippets that are lost when browser data is cleared or a device is lost. If you turn on passphrase encryption and forget the passphrase, your encrypted snippets cannot be recovered.

Acceptable use

• Do not use CopyCat to store or share anything unlawful.
• Do not try to disrupt, reverse engineer or overload the service.
• Do not use automated tools to click on or generate traffic for the ads on the website.

Template packs

The template packs and example text are provided as general starting points. They are not professional, legal or financial advice. Check them for your situation before you send them.

Ads and third parties

The website may show ads and may link to other sites. We do not control third-party sites or advertisers and are not responsible for them. See the privacy policy for how ads work and how to control them.

No warranty

CopyCat is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything important.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, CopyCat is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of CopyCat. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms or change or stop the service. We will post updates on this page. You can stop using CopyCat at any time by deleting its data from your browser.

Governing law and contact
